October 26 this year representatives of the project office of the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a working meeting with representatives of the project office of Transformation of Samruk-Kazyna JSC.
Representatives of Samruk-Kazyna JSC shared Project Management practices, the application of which made it possible to efficiently and on time complete the transition of the Fund’s Corporate Center to the target operating model “Strategic Holding – Active Investor” with a focus on creating value and achieving sustainable commercial results. The Fund has switched to portfolio asset management through strategic KPIs with a focus on value creation, dividends from mature portfolio companies are reinvested in the development of new sectors of the national economy, and the withdrawal of part of the assets from the Fund’s portfolio as part of Privatization is being implemented. Now the focus of Transformation is shifting to the level of Portfolio Companies, where about 130 transformation projects are being implemented, including standardization and digitalization of corporate business processes, transition to a new purchasing model, building an integrated planning system, and others. For further growth of business results, successful implementation of the tasks of Transformation, Privatization and successful exit of companies to IPO, the culture and practices of Project Management are being introduced into the Fund and portfolio companies.
“We announced the completion of the Fund’s transition to the target operating model of a commercial Strategic Holding in May of this year. Today we are working to ensure that project management, including Agile, Scrum and Kanban approaches, becomes an integral part of our everyday work,” said Nikolai Butvina, head of the Project Management Office group of Samruk-Kazyna JSC.
In turn, Ministry employees spoke about the project management system implemented in the Ministry.
At the end of the meeting, employees of the Ministry and Samruk-Kazyna JSC expressed confidence in further cooperation in exchanging experience in the successful implementation of project management. Share material:
